The plan was to make a post as soon as I got back from Fuengirola, but work happened, then I opted to watch the regionals all weekend and then more work happened. The only reason I am actually writing this post is that I can't sleep(clowns will eat me).
Fuengirola was awesome and I would definitely do it again given the option. The best parts were the "rest day" when we went up La Concha without having any clue(most of us survived) and the beach WOD where we made an attempt to drown(we failed miserably). The only improvement I would suggest is more training!
After the trip I got right back to training since rest is dangerous and should be avoided.
Thursday started with 3x7minutes AMRAP. Pullups and HSPU didn't feel too good due to my elbows not liking some of the stuff we did in Fuengirola, but Ring Dips worked better than usual. Weird.
I got home reasonably early so I decided to join the running WOD. The WOD was 1 work / 1 rest, 300 meters run with slamball, 300 meters running backwards. 7 rounds of that. Surprisingly enough running with slamball got easier (or at least more comfortable) over time and there was no weird pain in my shins afterwards....
Friday's team WOD included a lot of running as well which felt reasonably good despite Thursday's activities. The wod was an AMRAP cash in(a dozen different options) followed by a run. I managed 12 runs over the 40 minutes which is slightly better than I expected.
Saturday's WOD included a lot of lunges which suck, a lot of gymnastics (that my elbows didn't like) and some wallballs where we hit the time cap....
Bear complex is fun. It was even more fun that I managed to PR it this Sunday (85 kg). The WOD was a lot of fun, but high rep bear complex is really hard (who'd'a' thunk it ).
Hang squat snatch is highly technical. I can do technical things when my heart rate is low, but when it goes up technique goes out the window. So my hang squat snatches turned into hang power followed by overhead squat which required a bit more work...
Tuesday included some weird stuff like weighted plank which turned out to be as hard as expected. The hard part was getting to 3 minutes. Our first interval was 50 seconds, but after that we could only do 20 seconds at a time which demanded quite a few sets...
Wednesday we got to practice our max lifts. This time it was BTN Split Jerk which I really enjoy. I did a double at 85 and followed up by a single at 95 (new PR). 100 doesn't feel that far away....
When we got into the box Thursday morning we thought that somebody forgot to clean the whiteboard after Wednesday's Competition group but it turned out that we were the ones that were supposed to do it. Surprisingly enough we managed and we didn't even have to scale anything.
While in Fuengirola I missed Systembolaget's latest beer release that I had to catch up to. Unfortunately the only interesting beer was Death From Above and while the idea was great (a fruity IPA with chili) the implementation is lacking. This beer would be much better with more hops and more chili

Off to Fuengirola
Longer time than usual since last post and a bit shorter than it normally would be after such a long hiatus for reasons. It also has fewer pictures than you would normally expect. That's for reasons as well.
Sunday started with 7 rounds of 7 reps of 5 (7 would've been more interesting) movements. I managed first round unbroken but then I got a bit tired. Used lifting shoes. Not sure if it was a good idea since I feel they slowed me down on burpees.
Wallballs and barbells were the Tuesday treat. Wallballs felt better than usual. I was still barely able to do the last 25, but normally I reach that same state much earlier. Barbell movement felt OK. I have trouble with my grip with snatch grip deadlift and I was almost too sweaty to hold on to the bar during snatches in the end but I managed....
Wednesday's wod consisted of 8 rounds of 200 m run 3 C2B, 5 pullups and 7 T2B which felt surprisingly good despite complete lack of barbell movements. I was still able to do C2B for the last round.
Friday's Team WOD was an oldie but a goodie. Ropeclimbs, partner deadlifts, partner pushups, wallclimbs, medball over bar, sync pullups and burpees. I had to scale ropeclimbs since I want to have working elbows in Fuengirola, but the rest of the stuff felt great. I even managed to get the medball over bar most times.
Grizabel was a lot of fun despite all the running. My 25 snatches@60kg is the second time I am doing more than just a couple at that weight within a WOD and this time no lifting shoes. Felt reasonably good most of the way
Sunday was a 3 person amrap of 100 cal row, 100 front rack lunges, 100 toes through rings and 100 thrusters. Both lunges and thrusters suck. By the second round I didn't have the energy to row well and no grip for toes through rings.
Monday I went for endurance instead of the regular wod. It was an amrap of 100 deadlift, run, 100 hpc, run, 100 front squats, run, 100 jerks, run. We managed to get 80 hpc on the second round. Weights were low so I was both deadlifting and hang power cleaning with my back which is faster at those weights, but I need to make sure I don't do that when it gets heavy or bad things will happen....
Last week Hamnmästaren (the yellow building at Bagers plats) reopened for the year. It used to be one of my favourite places but now it has roughly half as many taps as before and the beer fridge is gone making it much less exciting.
On Saturday I visited Swedish home brewing championship which was a very interesting event with a lot of different beers. Some of them were good and some not so good. Some of them were normal and some of them really weird. The most weird one was the "pizza beer" where you could get extra topping as seen on the right. I went for mushroom and the beer had actual mushroom taste.
My favourite one didn't make it into pictures, but it won one of the medals. Ginger Rogers Ginger Ale is an ale with added ginger which makes it much more interesting than that kind of ales normally are.
